I pass by this gas station whenever I'm walking from home to the BART station to catch a train, usually early mornings on my way into the office. I'd been meaning to stop to take this photo for several weeks, but I was always in a rush.
Then one morning, that little voice in my head said, "take it now." Though I was in a hurry, I pulled out my camera, assembled it, and took several shots. The very next day, the gas station went through a little renovation. All of the red and orange neon on the canopy was removed and replaced with paint stripes! This photo will always be a reminder of the impermanence of all things and that when we hesitate to stop and capture a moment, it could be our last chance.
